Genius Of Your Skin
Skin- Your M&M

Genius Tip #662: Genius of Your Skin - Your "M&M"
Today, I want to share my obsession with you: I look for hidden genius wherever I go. It is fun and energizing. Want to join me?
Let's go into our own bodies and look closer to our largest organ.
The scientific description - supported by AI - might sound dry to you; however, almost every word describes the genius intelligence of skin, the true M&M:
The skin, hair, and nails are the body's protective covering, shielding internal organs and preventing germs from entering. They also regulate body temperature through sweat glands, detect environmental dangers via touch, and play a role in the immune system. When exposed to sunlight, the skin produces Vitamin D, which aids in calcium absorption for healthy teeth and bones.
Skin is the body’s largest organ and consists of three layers:
- Epidermis: The thin outer layer, with constantly regenerating dead cells. It contains melanocytes, which produce melanin, determining skin color.
- Dermis: The thick middle layer, containing blood vessels, nerves, hair follicles, sweat, and oil glands, provides strength and elasticity via collagen and elastic fibers.
- Subcutaneous Layer: The innermost layer, primarily made of fat, insulating the body and cushioning against injuries.
- As a former biology teacher, I taught this style of science to many students. However, today, I enjoy a completely different perspective: a deep appreciation for my skin and the genius level of cellular communication that connects it with the brain and all other organs. Many times, I am in awe and feel deeply thankful.
Yes, M&M stands for 'Miracle' and 'Magic'.
