After a long and very successful career as a teacher for highly gifted students, Dr. Carolyn Ragatz started her dream project: The Academy of Performing Arts. She always knew in her heart that there was a way to bring out the best in children who showed exceptional talents outside of the current school system, who are very creative, sensitive and outspoken, but have a very hard time turning in their assignments or respecting deadlines.
Within a few short years, her academy grew beyond 500 students. She observed that overcoming anxiety and developing self-confidence were the most outstanding results for every single student, frequently after a few weeks of stand-up comedy only. "Let these kids be kids and play themselves into the world instead of copying behavior from adults only. Adulting might just feed their anxiety." What a profound insight to share!
Daily anxiety and mental, emotional, or social stress easily leads to burnout symptoms. Play and spontaneous playful behavior might be the most powerful tool to prevent or reverse it. Want to give it a try?
