The 19-year old turned his passion for LEGO into a medical miracle
|
David Aguilar was born in 2000 with a genetic defect that caused his right arm to grow only to 1/3 of the normal length without a fully developed hand or fingers. Throughout his childhood he was obsessed with Lego and explored all the possibilities that this magic toy has to offer.
Then he did the IMPOSSIBLE: He built a prosthetic arm with LEGO when he was 9 years old and called himself "Hand Solo".
In the meantime he owns three versions of his LEGO arm and can even do pushups on it. The construction time went from 5 days down to 10 hours.
Genius in action? No doubt: True creativity has no limits!
It sounds like David never had to go through a severe emotional crisis with his missing limb: His passion for LEGO almost compensated for that and guided him like an internal compass to this highly unusual innovative and brilliant solution.
